Autism Support Network - Autism Support Network

Hoffmann Foundation for Autism is setting up an Autism Support Network to provide information and advice to staff in the public services wanting to open their services up to people with autism from the community.

We often hear from health service staff, police, probation and prison staff, and social workers sympathetic to the needs of adults with autism but lacking support to know how best to approach developing and delivering services. If that sounds like you, then with one click you can join a network dedicated to providing that support.

Focus on Autism

A free monthly enewsletter with news, digests of academic articles and links. Read more about this here.

On Line Community

HFFA will create an on-line community on its website enabling members to download materials; contact and communicate with each other; post comments and initiate and contribute to debates.

Training

HFFA send out training brochures in spring and autumn of each year, starting in early 2010. We will market a variety of courses designed to assist managers and staff at a variety of providers adjust and improve their services for people with autism.

Events

Members of the network will get advance notification of a variety of free and paid for events, including seminars, exhibitions and policy forums.

Oct 2009	Hoffmann Centre for Autism	Hoffmann Foundation has committed to creating a “centre of excellence” in north London that groups its support services in one building that will act as a model that could be replicated elsewhere.
Aug 2009	HFFA adopts 'London living wage'	HFFA board have agreed to pay domestic staff the “London Living Wage” (LLW), backdated to April 1st 2009.
Aug 2009	Work in the Art Studio	Hoffmann Foundation for Autism has recently invested in a much expanded and improved facility that encourages the opportunities for creative expression by people with autism. We are grateful to the City Bridge Trust for their support of this area of our work. This is the story of how one of our service users developed his skills at the Hoffmann art facility.
Jul 2009	Strategic Plan for 2009-2010	Following consultation HFFA has agreed a new strategy to meet future challenges and opportunities faced by organisations providing autism-specific services.
Jun 2009	Head Office Move	Hoffmann Foundation for Autism has moved its head office to a new charity centre at 22-25 Finsbury Square, London EC2A 1DX.
May 2009	Strategic Plan	The first draft of a strategic plan for the Hoffmann Foundation for Autism (HFFA) is now out for consultation.
Apr 2009	HFFA Art Prize 2009	The judging is over and winners announced in the Hoffmann Foundation for Autism Prize for Drawing and Painting.
Mar 2009	Autism Bill	There has been a flurry of activity in Parliament after Cheryl Gillian’s, Autism Bill came top of the private members' ballot in December and cleared its second reading in February.
