Focus on Autism Launch

World Autism Awareness Day Logo - Logo used by the World Autism Awareness Day campaign

Hoffmann Foundation for Autism marks World Autism Awareness Day on 2nd April 2010 by launching a new monthly newsletter “Focus on Autism”.

The publication, a digest of news stories and research from around the world, aims to inform a general readership with an interest in autism. Our aim is to make information about autism and Asperger’s syndrome available to help build a fairer world for people with autism.

Focus on Autism is part of the Hoffmann Foundation for Autism’s response to the widely expressed need for better information about autism, recently articulated by the UK Government’s adult autism strategy.

Description

Hoffmann is creating an Autism Support Network to provide information and advice to staff in the public services wanting to open their services up to people with autism from the community. This is in response to the many health service staff, police, probation and prison staff, and social workers sympathetic to the needs of adults with autism but lacking support to know how best to approach developing and delivering services.

Focus on Autism is available by email and can also be downloaded from the Hoffmann Foundation website.
