Hoffmann Foundation for Autism is an equal opportunities employer which employs over 100 staff. All Hoffmann Foundation for Autism staff are provided with basic induction training towards meeting the General Social Care Council minimum requirements for social care.

The full induction includes not only all the statutory training required by the Care Standards Act, but also specialist autism training focused on the specific needs of our users and ongoing training and support.

We offer a range of flexible and exciting career opportunities for support workers including full / part-time positions in the Residential homes, Outreach and The Hub (day centre). We are always looking for volunteers to help out the art studios.

Part-time and Full-time Support Workers

Location – various

Full-time: £17,190 per annum pro-rata
Part-Time: Hourly rate £8.33 per hour

We are currently looking for both full and part-time support workers for all of our services. Our staff use autism specific approaches when working with our client group and so it is important that you have previous experience of supporting adults with Autism Spectrum Condition. Our services are all operated on a 24 hour, 7 day a week basis and so the role involves shift working and sleep-ins.

All of our staff receive extensive training and qualifying staff are eligible to join our pension scheme.

Volunteer Drivers

London Borough's of Barnet, Brent, Haringey, Harrow.


• You should hold a full clean driving licence and have been driving for at least 1 years
• You should be between the ages of 21 and 70 to comply with our insurance requirements
• You should feel confident driving an eight seater mini bus or people carrier.
• You should be prepared to commit to a minimum of one morning or afternoon a week for at least three months


Volunteering for Hoffmann Foundation for Autism requires

• The ability to remain calm at all times
• Flexibility
• Patience


You will enjoy being a volunteer if:

• You want to help people with learning difficulties gain more independence
• You are interested learning about autism spectrum disorders
• You are stimulated by a challenge
• You want to make a real difference to an individual’s wellbeing


You don’t need any prior knowledge of autism or learning difficulties because:

• You will be volunteering alongside a staff team who have the knowledge and skills necessary
• You will learn about autism as you go along from specialists
• You will have the chance to increase your theoretical knowledge on site


We can offer you:

• Expenses up to £10.00
• A high degree of professional support

When your application has been assessed you will be contacted and asked to meet with staff at one of our projects to discuss the roles. If successful, you will need to have a Disclosure and Barring Service certificate before you can begin volunteering, if you haven’t got one you will be able to apply for one at our head office.
