All Hoffmann Foundation for Autism staff are provided with basic induction training towards meeting the General Social Care Council minimum requirements for social care. The full induction includes not only all the statutory training required by the Care Standards Act, but also specialist autism training focused on the specific needs of our users and ongoing training and support. Managers are working towards the Registered Managers' Award and NVQ Assessors' qualification support staff and tutors are working towards NVQ2/3 in Care and delivering learning programme. Staff are also encouraged to mentor or be mentored by colleagues, which creates a supportive atmosphere. HFFA offers a range of flexible and exciting career opportunities for support workers, including full, part time and casual posts in the homes, tutor positions at the day centre and for volunteers in both the homes and day service.
Ongoing VacanciesBank Support Worker (Ref. BSW) To work as part of a team to support adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, to reach their full potential both at home and in the community. To provide support with personal care, as appropriate. Bank Support Workers are not guaranteed any hours, so hours worked may change from week to week. You are also able to work at any of our units, when called upon. The ideal candidates will have experience of working with learning disabilities and autism. We also welcome applications from persons without this experience as NVQ and other training will be given. You must however possess good communication skills, an empathy towards people with disabilities and commitment to enhancing the life experiences of our user group.
