First Thursday Galleries

Continuing from my last article I will again be recommending places where I feel are best for people with Autism. These events/ daytrips are a fantastic way to meet new people and have fun while doing so.  In today’s addition I will be talking about art exhibitions which are held on the first Thursday of every month.  These event are held at a variety of different galleries, however I would strongly recommend going to the galleries in Vyner St and Shoreditch.  This is due to the fact that they have the most frequent viewings, in addition to them being close together, which allows an easy journey between the two.

I find looking at art gives me creative ideas for my own work. The experience allows me to get in touch with the artists and view the way they percive the world. It helps people with autism to be open minded and tame their obsessions. Art can also be used as a converstation starter and in turn, will encourage participants to express their views on subjective material.

These trips can bring out the creative side of people who choose to attend. Hopefully it will inspire people to create their own pieces of art which may one day, be part of their own exhibition.
