PsychologistOur psychology team works closely with service users to support them in their own environment - at home, work in the community, in residential settings or in the day centre. As well as providing counselling and social skills groups, the psychologists work with staff to develop positive intervention plans and strategies for managing challenging behaviour. They also provide autism awareness training around the particular autistic needs of individual service users. The psychology department receive regular clinical supervision by a psychologist with specialist knowledge of Autism spectrum disorders and co-occurring conditions.
Members of the psychology department have obtained or are currently pursuing the MA/MSc in Counselling Psychology or Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. The Foundation has links with City University and University of East London Counselling Psychology Departments. |
