Residents

Service user washing the dishesThe current service users all diagnosed with either Autism or Asperger's syndrome and moderate to severe learning disabilities. Service users are encouraged to take advantage of adult education programmes, where possible, and to enter supported employment schemes or attend day services.

Users work with TEACCH, a flexible communication system, which uses pictures and symbols to increase communication and social skills. They also participate in domestic activities around the home to develop their independent living skills. By providing a homely environment with sensitive staff support, residents have as much control over their lives as possible, and are active members of the community.

Service users enjoy a range of activities these include use of public transport, cinema, pubs, swimming, independent travel / life skills etc.
