HHFA is proud to announce the development of their first transitional unit for 6 young adults (18 years onward) who have autistic spectrum conditions and who may also have complex or challenging needs. The individuals are either leaving full time education or are ready to transition from their permanent home into a service that will support and guide them in developing the skills necessary to achieve independence in whatever form that may be and to whatever level is appropriate to each individual.
Langham Gardens is being refurbished to the highest standard with Autism specific features such as a sensory room, 6 on suite bedrooms and a sensory landscape garden. Langham Gardens staff group have been trained to the highest standard which includes structured TEACCH and the use of PECS. All of the staff have experience in working with people who have Autism and complex and challenging needs.
Langham Gardens will be opening in spring 2012.
